Sometimes when things are handmade they don't turn out perfect, but it doesn't mean they can't still be put to good use.
 
All these discs have slight imperfections in the wood grain e.g. small natural cracks on one of side of the disc, but the other side of the disc is perfect and can be used.
 
We work hard to ensure we create as little waste as possible; so rather than 'disposing' of these by burning them in our log burner, we've decided to offer them to you instead with a discount in the hope they will find some loving new homes!!
 
P.S. These discs can be used without a Speedarner loom simply as a darning disc with an elastic band/hairband.

Slowly handcrafted solid wood disc for use with our Speedarner mending loom.
 
For those who'd love to grab a spare one, just in case the first one has gone astray and cannot be found!
 
This beautiful disc would also be perfect to use as a darning disc, for times when you need a flat one as opposed to a disc with a domed/curved top.
 
It has a nice organic smooth surface and natural wood finish (i.e. no varnish or oil has been applied).
 
Each one is made with care by us in our Cornish (U.K.) workshop using locally-sourced timber. This batch were created using spalted beech timber locally-sourced from the Lanhydrock estate in Bodmin, Cornwall - this was a windfallen tree that came down in a storm back in March 2020.
 
Please be aware the grain pattern varies from one disc to the next and will be slightly different to the photos shown.
